First Time Triathlete Mentor Program

Are you considering doing your first triathlon, but are worried about how to get started, how to train, or how to go about doing your first race?  TriRochester is here to help!


Register as a "First Time Triathlete" when you join TriRochester and get extra assistance to help welcome you into the sport.

Here is some of what you can expect

Practice Triathlons- Triathlon is fairly unique in its combination of multiple sports into one event.  The key to success is being able to put them all together; the best way to get comfortable with it is practice.  We have weekly informal practice triathlons in the summer that will help get you ready.  You can practice with others in a low key environment and without funny looks from your neighbors when you hose yourself down in the front yard and then jump on your bike!

  • Training plan review
  • Race Day plan
    • Setting up your transition area
    • Warmup
    • Hydration & Nutrition
  • Racing/pacing strategy
  • Tips on tools and gear and gear selection / gear checkup

Forum and Email Contact for questions- You're bound to think of questions as you prepare for your first race.  We'll be there so that you have someone to ask.

Pre Race Support- We will be on site at several local races to help you get checked in and set up your gear and cheer you on.
